Kit comes with type 1 and 27 guards, flanges, wrench, handle and an allen wrench for adjusting the guard. The guard takes a little bit of force to rotate it when you seat it through the key guide but it stays where you want it after you give the screw a turn. Slide switch activation with lock on or hold on operation. 10,000 rpm. I was able to get 21 cuts with a type 1 in a 1/2" threaded rod before it wouldn't cut anymore. It started to bind and slow a little after 16 cuts with a fat pack battery 619. I was also applying more pressure than I know I should have because I wanted to see if it would bind easily. I have no idea what the guts look like but it is a little more expensive the competitors offerings for a 4 1/2" cordless grinder. I think it'll be a great tool so long as the limitations of the battery pack are understood. I have used it many times. It isn't made out of steel the battery's do die out fast and you'll get about five cuts depending on what you are cutting. But it is really handy to have to make quick small cut here and there. Recommend!
