It is aluminum, but it's not flimsy by any means. I had no problems with taking off and putting the lid back on, and the filter basket and support seems to be make pretty well. The percolator dome is plastic, was hoping for glass, but it should work fine. I can't wait to use it this summer while camping. I'm sure it'll get used before then at home just to try it out.**Update after camping trip** We took this with us after a 3 day - 2 night camping trip. It was nice to have fresh coffee at the campsite in the morning. The capacity is huge but I only made about 10 cups at a time, enough for my wife and I. The durability of the pot itself, the percolator dome, and the grounds basket is pretty good. If you don't throw anything around or set a heavy cooler full of ice on top of anything, it should last for years. The only thing I am concerned with is the post that sits inside that holds the... Read more 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful Camp coffee, By This review is from: Texsport Aluminum 20 Cup Percolator (Sports) When planning a recent vacation, I realized that with all the coffee drinkers in camp, the one 20 cup pot that I had wasn't going to do. Anything larger would take far too long to heat and anything smaller would have been a tease. Adding the second 20 cupper kept all in camp well caffinated. I might mention that nobody in this crowd has a normal sized coffee cup and the daily two to three "tanks" of morning coffee got everyone off to a roaring start. |
